Many converts find themselves isolated in distant towns, with no contact with other Muslims nor access to mosques. To cater to this public, Amana has been holding regular Convenings, hosting participants for a weekend devoted to courses, talks, communal prayer, and Islamic companionship (suhba). In this way we aim not only to foster the acquisition of knowledge — both in classes and by means of companionship —, but also to strengthen communal ties in order to form a strong, cohesive community.
